Intrigued, he decided to decipher the recipe and after a year\u2019s effort succeeded in reconstituting it. The elixir thus became a liqueur that he called B\u00e9n\u00e9dictine in tribute to the Benedictine monk, Dom Bernardo Vincelli. He had the sumptuous Palais B\u00e9n\u00e9dictine built to provide a prestigious setting for the distillery of the liqueur (which is still in operation today) and for his collection of works of art.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We invite you to discover this incredible tale of ancient and contemporary history at Le Palais B\u00e9n\u00e9dictine by exploring the Experiences designed for all those fired by passion and curiosity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can also enjoy the Tasting Room, Tea Room and Shop. In the winter garden, you will have the opportunity to taste the subtle aromas of B\u00e9n\u00e9dictine and its cocktails. You can also try B\u00e9n\u00e9dictine delicacies (spice madeleines, B\u00e9n\u00e9dictine cakes, B\u00e9n\u00e9dictine ice cream), but also hot and cold drinks, lunch snacks. We also encourage our visitors to park their vehicles on the Berigny quay, 200 meters from Le Palais B\u00e9n\u00e9dictine, or on La M\u00e2ture Parking, next to F\u00e9camp train station \/ tourist office and a stone\u2019s throw from our entrance.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Entrance has no steps and is suitable for wheelchair access. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main Entrance Hall door is bi-fold and will accommodate all wheelchairs. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>RECEPTION AND TICKETING AREA<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main Entrance Hall is situated on the ground floor with step-free access throughout. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is a lowered section of the ticket desk. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>For an enjoyable visit<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We provide a printed handout for the tour of Le Palais B\u00e9n\u00e9dictine. This document is available in 7 languages: French, English, German, Dutch, Spanish, Italian and Russian.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We encourage people to touch, and smell the aromas and botanicals in the Herbalist Room. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bench and chairs are available at various points throughout the tour. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le Palais B\u00e9n\u00e9dictine is on 2 levels. There is a lift to access the 1st floor. The exceptional collection of ancient art, the Herbalist Room, the Distillery, the Tasting Room, the Tearoom and the Shop are accessible for a wheelchair or for pushchair. Only the cellars are not. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any of our hosts will be more than happy to help you access the lift.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>TEA ROOM<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are snacks available to buy in the tasting room. These can be consumed in the winter garden.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is no table service for food. Please visit the bar to make your purchase.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>SHOP<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Shop has a range of B\u00e9n\u00e9dictine Expressions, cocktail ingredients, chocolates, sweets, \u00a0posters, post cards, glasses and other B\u00e9n\u00e9dictine products.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Shop is on the ground floor, adjacent to the winter garden just next to the exit gate.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The counter is low-level as are the majority of products.
